Welcome to the Bento DISCO.
After 2 years developing patient experience tools to increase diversity in clinical trials through Project Bento, we launched DISCO DAO, a community-owned biorepository governed by the DISCO protocol: Decentralized Interactions for Shared-value Community ‘Omics.
We’re building tools and environments to enable everyone to participate in the biotech economy as data OWNERS, not data donors. We’re giving new meaning to STAYIN’ ALIVE.

With Bento Biology, you are a Bioshareholder in the search for a cure. The Bento Shared Value Platform compensates you for the value you create when you complete protocol tasks, generate a biological digital asset, and report symptoms. Each task has a cash value and points that let you earn additional rewards as you level up.
Data Donor to Data Owner.
Currently, you are a data donor. Some companies offer a free service, such as a social media platform or a search engine. They collect your data, then profit from it, whether by selling it to marketing forms or analyzing and acting on it themselves. Other companies have you purchase a product which takes samples from you. In this case, you are a paying customer, and they still own and sell your data.
At Bento Biology, you will own your biological data and be compensated as your data is collected and when it is sold.

Building Your Biological Digital Twin.
Your genome, your microbiome, and, collectively, your phenome represent a new asset class. This asset accelerates precision medicine and drives the biotech economy. Today, D2C (direct-to-consumer) genomics companies, big pharma, and governments own your biological digital twin. We are building a digital community, governed by shared-value protocols, to establish property rights for personal biology and transparent incentivize stake-in-the-game biomedical research.
Your Bento Biological Digital Twin will be a pseudo-anonymous collection of your data that can be “minted” as a blockchain asset. You will have full rights to access and delete the data as you see fit.
Using our Bento Biology Box, you can start to build your Biological Digital Twin by collecting samples via the self-service biosampling tools in the kit. The biological data created by your samples will become a digital asset, which can be enriched with phenotype data as well as subjective data collected from daily symptom reporting on our Bento Flare mobile application. Through the mobile application, you will also be incentivized to provide data through rewards for completing actions, such as taking samples and reporting symptoms.
When enough data has been collected downstream, these Biological Digital Twins can become yield producing assets. Research institutions and pharmaceutical companies looking to analyze past data will be able to purchase access to these datasets, which will automatically pay the owners of the twins (yourselves), driving value for the data owner, the research entity, and, of course, Bento Biology.
